CSN provides financial fitness counseling to families and individuals who are delinquent or in default on their mortgage. An eight hour workshop is offered twice per month in both English and Spanish. During the workshop, homeowners are informed about the various alternatives available and the process involved for them to be able to make sound decisions regarding available alternatives are the best fit for each individual to adopt. One-on-one in person counseling is also offered. During the one-on-one session, the counselor reviews the homeowner’s documents and budget; together they develop an help homeowners to understand their options; an action plan and ways to resolve the issues at hand are analyzed; counselor then contacts provider and negotiate solutions. When it is determined that a client is in dire need of other types of services he or she is referred to the appropriate local service provider. |
