The Year of 2010

During 2010, CSNV reached its projected goals by serving a total of 1,073 clients; of these, 839 were Hispanic and 234 non-Hispanic, 134 received a permanent modification, 8 brought their mortgage current and 10 were foreclosed on.

CSNV’s objective for 2010 was to provide education and counseling to 900 distressed homeowners. Since not all the requested funding was obtained, the goal was lowered to 600 (300 per counselor) and this goal was surpassed by 100 clients.

Under the First-Time Homebuyer program the goal of 10 new homeowners was reached. The WISH program played a major role with the DPA.

Furthermore, CSNV lead the way in having a counselor attend state mediation sessions with clients who did not have the financial ability to pay for attorney or translation services, even though CSNV was not awarded funding from the State 2010 mediation program.

CSNV organized foreclosure prevention events and participated in every other organized by HUD, Lenders and/or government elected officials, and more.

CSNV is in compliance with the National Industry Standard Code of Ethics and Conduct as well as member of the HOPE Loan Portal, which allows for direct interaction with participating lenders.

Through the Earn It, Keep It VITA Program, 193 clients had their tax return completed free of charge.
